New work on show

A new selection of my work is currently on show at the Banff Castle Garden Cafe (open Tuesday - Saturday 09.00-16.00 serving great food and coffee!). These pieces reflect my interest in the semi-abstract shapes, forms and patterns made by leaves and trees on roads and paths, especially in autumn and winter. The changing weather and seasons reveal different aspects of trees’ relationship to each other, and change our passage through the landscape. An enthusiastic and regular walker, I observe and gather information out in the landscape and bring drawings, photographs and studies back to my studio.

Three ways: An exhibition of artworks created in response to outside spaces

This exhibition was at the Stables Gallery and Cafe, on the Falkland Estate in Fife, from June- August 2021. Regular walks along the back roads and paths between local villages during the Covid lockdown winter and spring of 2020-21 inspired me to explore the feeling and atmosphere experienced on these journeys, moving through light and dark, the shadows of the trees measuring and obscuring the tracks ahead as I enjoyed the freedom of outside.
